Importing artwork
If you already have artwork drawn in another program, you may be able to import it to use in your Expression Design documents. There are three ways to import artwork into Expression Design.
- Open If the artwork is in a file format that Expression Design supports, then you can open it in the same way as you open an Expression Design document, by clicking Open from the File menu. You can also drag any supported file into the Expression Design application window to open it.
- Paste You can also import vector artwork from another application by copying it to the Clipboard, and then clicking Paste or Paste Special on the Edit menu. For more information about copy and paste, see Copy and paste objects.
- Import You can import an Adobe Illustrator PDF file (or a native .AI file, if Illustrator's Create PDF Compatible File feature is enabled) by clicking Import on the File menu. The objects in the PDF file will be converted to Expression Design objects as closely as possible. In some cases, the objects may be altered; for example, text may convert to outlines.
